South Korean pianist Seonghyeon Leem made her European debut in the Mozarthaus Konzertsaal Vienna. In the 2023/24 season, Seonghyeon Leem won the International Pro Musicis Award 2023 (Salle Cortot, Paris) and the second prize at the ZF Music Award 2024 (Bodensee), and was invited to perform recitals by the Salle Cortot in Paris, the Arsenal in Metz, the Lisztomanias Festival in Châteauroux, the Théâtre Saint Bonnet in Bourges, Schumannhaus, Gohliser Schlösschen in Leipzig, Liebhabertheater Schloss in Kochberg, Weißes Haus in Markkleeberg and Notre Dame de Sion in Istanbul . Seonghyeon Leem performed at the José Carreras Gala, which was broadcast live on MDR television.

As the highlights of the 2022/23 season, Seonghyeon Leem won the first Prize at the 5th International Piano Competition Istanbul Orchestra’ Sion, (as well as the Prize of the Consul General of France Olivier Gauvin, the Cemal Reşit Rey Prize, and an artwork from Ciner Holding), and performed in a concert of the Beethoven Triple Concerto with the Mozarteum University Symphony Orchestra and conductor Ion Marin at the Haus für Mozart at the Salzburger Festspiele. Seonghyeon Leem performed at the concerts of the Ravel G Major Concerto with the Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie and conductor Hankyeol Yoon in Konstanz and Friedrichshafen in April 2023. At the Palais de Beaux Arts in Brussels, Seonghyeon Leem performed at the 25th Anniversary concert of the Musica Mundi Festival in June 2023. In August 2023, she was invited to perform recitals by the Gümüşlük Music Festival in Bodrum, and the Ayvalık Music Festival in Ayvalık.

Seonghyeon Leem is a laureate of the 66th Gian Battista Viotti International Music Competition (Soroptimist Club Prize), the 2017 Moscow International Piano Open Competition (2nd Prize), the 7th International Piano Competition Clamo Music 2021 (2nd Prize), the Grand Prize Virtuoso International Competition 2019 (1st Prize), and the 7th International Rosario Marciano Piano Competition (2nd Prize). In Korea, Seonghyeon Leem won the First Prize at the Korean-Liszt competition, the Sunhwa Music competition and the Chopin Scholarship Prize at the Seoul National University.

Seonghyeon Leem toured with concerts in Germany, Austria, Hungary, Poland and China. On several occasions, she was invited to play recitals by the Kumho Asiana Cultural Foundation, Korean-Liszt Society, Korea-Austria Culture and Technology Exchange Association and the Korean Cultural Institute.

Seonghyeon Leem collaborated with renown conductors and orchestras such as Sławomir Chrzanowski and the Zabrze Philharmonic Orchestra, Alexander Drčar and the Bad Reichenhall Philharmonic Orchestra, Orçun Orçunsel and Orchestra Sion Istanbul, Ja-Kyung Year and the Gunpo Prime Philharmonic Orchestra, and Dong-Su Kim and the Sunhwa Wind Orchestra.

Seonghyeon Leem was invited to substitute for the pianist Paul Gulda at the 34th Chopin Festival in Gaming. She also performed at the Music in the Mountains Festival in Colorado, the Opening Concert in the International Mendelssohn Academy Leipzig, the Musica Mundi Chamber Music Course and Festival, and the Bechstein Young Professionals in the C. Bechstein Vielharmonie.

Seonghyeon Leem holds an Undergraduate degree with honors from the Seoul National University where she studied with Prof. Aviram Reichert. Studying with Prof. Jacques Rouvier at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, Seonghyeon Leem received her Master and Postgraduate degrees. She studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig with Prof. Christian A. Pohl for a Meisterklassenexamen degree.

Seonghyeon Leem regards herself as a protégé of Paul Gulda and Eunju Heo. She received masterclasses from renown musicians such as Paul Badura-Skoda, Menahem Pressler, Arie Vardi, Elisabeth Leonskaja and Maxim Vengerov.

Seonghyeon Leem has given a masterclass at the Little Opera Academy in Germany and acted as a jury member at the MaiFestival Young 2023 competition. She is a young faculty member at the Musica Mundi Chamber Music Course and Festival.

In June 2023, Seonghyeon Leem was selected as a scholarship recipient of the Elfrun Gabriel Stiftung. During the funding period, she will play numerous piano recitals in Central Germany.
